After 15 years as marketing and sales director for CHANEL
Group Netherlands, Carl Nobelen was approached in 1995 to launch and set up a distribution network for the Austrian shoe brand THINK!
, which was targeted at the urban eco-friendly man and woman. It became an instant success.
In 1996, due to this success, Carl Nobelen
was approached by the licensee holder from HUGO BOSS
men’s footwear to launch and set up an exclusive distribution network of this top menswear brand in the Netherlands. HUGO BOSS
instantly became a very big success.
In July 2004, at the peak of its success we had a network of 190 POS in The Netherlands selling over 100,000 units a year. At this point HUGO BOSS AG decided to buy back his licensee rights.
As a result of this huge success SCARNO got approached by GUESS Inc to launch their Footwear and Handbags collection in The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. Frédéric Minvielle left his job as fashion stylist for top fashion magazines such as Esquire to join SCARNO and managed this new department. SCARNO built up the brand with a network of 350 POS in the BENELUX. In December 2007 SCARNO sold its distribution rights to GUESS Europe.
